I am so happy about Bobby's story. I've liked him. This is the third full length novel in the
Devil's Dust Series. There are also two
novellas. This book doesn't need to be
read in order, but the other ones do. I
highly recommend reading them all in order though. If you don't, you'll miss out on some
things. This is a great series, so you
won't be disappointed at all. I read all
of the books in 2.5 days.
Bobby is awesome. I
have liked him since the very first book.
He does come across as a playboy and a manwhore. But he is very smart and will do anything for
his brothers. He proved that when he
took two bullets for Shadow. One was
because he kept Dani and Shadow a secret.
The other was a bullet that would have killed Shadow and it came really close
to killing Bobby. Bobby has a big heart
and is a total alpha but when he actually loves a woman, he treats her right.
"My dad told me to take a woman out at night on a boat,
but not just any woman. One that meant
something to me."
Jessica, or "Doc",
went to the club for help to get herself and her daughter, out of a very
abusive and controlling relationship.
She is a doctor and in exchange for them helping her, she helps them by
being the club doc. She is still scared
and haunted by her ex though. She and
Bobby have a friends with benefits deal going on. But he wants more. He killed for her and doesn't even know what
all happened to her at the hands of her ex husband.
She finally opens up to him and tells him everything. It's either tell him or loose him completely.
He wants to help her move past her past. Replace the horrible memories with good
memories.
"Don't fear the pain; fear the message behind it."
Bobby knows he loves Jessica, it's hard to get her to admit
her feelings though. She is so scared of
being hurt again. It takes a horrible
situation for her to come to terms with how she feels for him. It helps that he is her knight in shining
armor and saves her, once again.
"Our love is an unclear path, but it's filled with possibilities. As the fear in our relationship lies on a
previously traveled path, it imprints its painful memories to heart."
I really hope there will be another book about these two!
